COVID-19 Hub

Jan 16 Update:  Because we are in the midst of an Omicron surge causing a high number of COVID-19 cases and because our vaccination rates among our students are not as high as for those of our staff, our isolation protocols are different for staff and students. At this time, we are going to continue to adhere to a 10-day protocol for scholars who are COVID-19 positive or who are unvaccinated and live in a household with a confirmed positive. Hopkins staff who are COVID-19 positive and who exhibit no symptoms or whose symptoms have improved on day 5 have the option of returning to work or continuing with a 10-day protocol depending on their unique circumstances. View our updated Isolation and Quarantine Protocols.

Hopkins is committed to the goals of Vision 2031 and the health and safety of our students and staff.

Now more than ever, our scholars need the qualities of the graduation traits in a world that is rapidly evolving. Regardless of what the world looks like, our core values hold true and these are the traits we will instill in our scholars that will set them apart from their peers. Whether in distance learning, in-person learning, or a hybrid of the two, we are committed to the goals of Vision 2031.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Quality Instruction

Whether distance learning or in person, we are committed to providing high-quality, rigorous instruction which sparks critical thinking while inspiring optimistic innovation.

Anti-Racism

When we co-create a culture where every child has a voice and is empowered, it benefits every child. As we develop and transition into new learning models, we will continue our work in creating anti-racist teaching practices.

Social-Emotional Wellness Culture

We love our students and are dedicated to fostering growth in empathy and developing holistic habits. Social-emotional learning will co-occur with academic learning to enhance student intellectual growth — not replace it — and we will vigilantly integrate social-emotional curriculum through a culturally-responsive lens.

With the Covid-10 Omicron surge continuing to be challenging on many levels, we want to provide you with some brief updates about where we are with continuing to operate in-person school in Hopkins

Omicron is the dominant COVID-19 variant in the United States. While we have faced several variants throughout this pandemic, Omicron is unique and will present challenges for us through this month and perhaps beyond.

Hopkins will be canceling the remaining Thursday late starts for the year and replacing them with all-day professional learning days on the Fridays following the originally scheduled late start.
